14,000 new jobs are headed to Green Country.
Okmulgee has landed a multi-million dollar deal with a waste processing facility out of Florida.
Waste Not Technologies out of Destin, Florida has committed to building an 800,000 square foot "Green Park" on the south side of Okmulgee.
The solid waste processing facility will be able to recycle 95% of the waste currently put in landfills.
"We're gonna turn that negative product into a positive and have a sellable product." said Okmulgee Mayor, Brian Priegel.
The facility will consist of 8 mini mills each processing solid waste into 5 primary materials.
"It will change for generations what this community's gonna feel from the impact of having this company located here." said Okmulgee Economic Director, John Robertson.
A groundbreaking will held late in November. Construction on the facility will take 18 months - 2 years.
