The possibility of exploding toilets has prompted an expanded recall.
More than 350,000 "Series 503 Flushmate III Pressure Assist" flushing systems are being recalled, because the system can burst at or near the vessel weld seam.
That releases stored pressure, which "can" lift the tank lid and shatter the tank. The manufacturer says this poses impact and laceration hazards to consumers and property damage.
The systems were installed inside toilet tanks manufactured between March 2008 and June 2009.
