Additional recalls due to possible listeria contamination

Reser's Fine Foods has expanded its Oct. 22 recall to include all products purchased in between Sept. 5 and Oct. 9.
Wisconsin company Garden Fresh Foods which sells prepared foods under various brands including Archer Farms and Market Pantry also announced a Class I Recall meaning high health risk due to possible listeria contamination. Last week Reser's Fine Foods in Topeka, Kansas recalled 22,800 pounds of chicken, ham and beef products due to possible contamination with Listeriamonocytogenes, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Oct. 26, the USDA announced the expanded recall.
In a release Saturday, the USDA stated the problem was discovered through microbiological testing by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Further testing revealed possible cross contamination.
Officials say the products were distributed to retailers and distributors nationwide.
Local Reser's products recalled include Walmart Deli Ham Salad and Deli Chicken Salad and Aldi Macaroni Salad, Potato Mustard, Potato Salad and Cole Slaw.

In addition company Taylor Farms is recalling broccoli salad and slaw sold across 25 eastern and southern states because they contain ingredients that may be contaminated with Listeria.
Taylor Farms says the packaged food includes ingredients previously recalled by Reser's.
