In the Garden: Paul James on warm weather plants, watering during extended periods of dry weather

TULSA - Anyone who likes to work in the garden is just itching to get out in the gorgeous weather we're seeing in northeast Oklahoma.

Our gardening expert, Paul James with Southwood Landscape and Garden Center advises you to not get into to big of a hurry to get your hands dirty.

He says now is the time to transition to warm weather plants such as tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and more.

You should also do a deep soak when you first plant. This encourages the roots to go deep down into the soil to better tolerate extended periods of dry weather.

And don't rely on a sprinkler. It's better to water your plants with a hose.

Those are just a few of the tips Paul shared with me. Click on the video attached to this story for more.

Happy Gardening!
