RECIPE: Tulsa Tumbleweed Burger

TULSA - Just in time for your Memorial Day cookout, Chef Nicholas Andoe from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa shares his recipe for Tulsa Tumbleweed Burger.

Ingredients:

Burgers:

  • Beef patty
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce
  • Sliced tomato
  • Sliced red onion
  • Sliced cheddar
  • Kaiser bun
  • BBQ sauce
  • Fried onions
  • Bacon slices

Tumbleweed onions:

  • Cup of flour
  • Tablespoon paprika
  • Cup of buttermilk

Procedure:

Toast Kaiser in toaster. Cook beef patty on flat-top griddle for roughly four minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 155 degrees F. After beef patty is done cooking, drizzle two ounces of BBQ sauce on top and add two slices of bacon. Melt two slices of cheddar on top.  

Tumbleweed onions:

  • Mix flour and paprika, set aside
  • Dip onion slices in buttermilk
  • Dip in flour mixture
  • Fry until golden brown

Place 3 oz. of tumbleweed onion on top of burger.
