Bacon prices on the rise after virus that has killed more than 7 million piglets

Bacon prices are on the rise hitting an all-time high.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the average price of a pound of bacon rose 6 cents in June up to a high of $6.11 per pound.

That breaks down to about 38 cents per strip.

A virus that's not harmful to humans has killed more than 7 million piglets in the past year. Fewer full-grown pigs and the ongoing drought has forced feed prices to the historic high.

The upward trend shows no sign of fading as bacon lovers continue to pay the high prices.

How much are you willing to pay for bacon?
