VIDEO: Rhode Island reporter Julie Tremmel demonstrates what to do if you see a bear

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The chances of coming across a bear in every-day life may not be great, but one Rhode Island man did just that.  He escaped but later said he had no idea what to do.

Cue the local news reporter who offered up a demonstration of what experts say you should do if you come face-to-face with one of the not-so-cuddly creatures, courtesy WJAR reporter Julie Tremmel.

"According to experts, you should avoid direct eye contact with the bear.  Don't run away, instead back off slowly.  Wave your arms to let the animal know you're human.  Don't yell.  Stay quiet unless the bear attacks, then scream and throw things at the bear.  If the bear attacks, curl up into a ball on your side or lay flat on your stomach.  And above all, stay calm."

Seems simple enough, right?

Her acting may not be great but the video sure is.  Check it out below.
