Monday's episode of The Voice was full of surprises.
Eight performers from Team Christina and Team Blake hit the stage.
But the show picked up the pace Monday, with the coaches required to send one member home immediately following the performances.
From Team Christina: Ashley De La Rosa, Jesse Campbell, Lindsey Paveo and Chris Mann.
Young De La Rosa sang well, continuing her noticeable growth. Shelton said her being saved several weeks ago was the best decision of the season.
Campbell brought his usual talents and was called a major favorite to win the show by Adam Levine.
Paveo continued her increasing theatrical elements and Aguilera revealed her songs have been the most purchased on iTunes of any artist on The Voice.
Chris Mann stretched his opera roots by singing Coldplay's "Viva la Vida," a move that received mixed reviews.
For Team Blake: RaeLynn, Jordis Unga, Erin Willett and Jermaine Paul.
RaeLynn picked up rave reviews from all four coaches as she seems to solidify her reputation as a young country standout.
An emotional Unga toned back her rocker vibe when she sang "A Little Bit Stronger." All seemed to approve.
Erin Willett tried her hand at Adele, which seemed to make some of the coaches nervous, but she shined with her powerful rendition of "Set Fire to the Rain."
Jermaine Paul finished the performances, singing "Against All Odds." Shelton said Monday would be a night he would always remember.
In a whirlwind turnaround, coach Christina eliminated Jesse Campbell, drawing a surprised look from Levine and many in the crowd.
Coach Blake followed, eliminating Jordis Unga.
The Voice returns next Monday at 7 p.m.
