VIDEO: Baby deer gets returned to its home after being 'rescued'

This baby fawn was taken to the Wildlife Aid Foundation in England after it was found in the forest.

Simon Cowell who works at the foundation decided the little deer did not actually need rescuing. It was just waiting for its mother to come back with food.

Cowell was nervous about the return of the fawn because most wild animals reject their offspring if they have the scent of humans.

He took the fawn back to where they found it and laid it down. After Cowell brushed dirt and leaves on the animal, hoping to get its natural scent back, the deer ran off.

Cowell says hundreds of deer lose their lives every year from human interaction. He says if you find a wild animal, don’t touch it and walk away quietly because the mother is likely very close.
