Actor MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY was left mortified after shooting to fame because his mother began giving guided tours of his childhood bedroom.
The star got his big break playing a lawyer in 1996 movie A Time to Kill, and he admits he was so paranoid about the attention stardom would bring that he asked his mom to be discreet with any media inquiries.
However, he was left stunned days later when he was watching a TV news show and saw his mother showing a camera crew around his old bedroom.
McConaughey tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "People started getting interested in my life and my history and all of a sudden my mom would show up in the newspapers. I told her they were things we should keep private between the family and she was like, 'Okay, okay.' The next week I was watching Hard Copy and there was my mom escorting a tour through my bedroom. When I called her she said, 'I didn't think you would see it!'."
