Veteran actress JULIE WALTERS is to be feted for her work on the small screen with a special honor from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
The Harry Potter star will be presented with a BAFTA Fellowship at the British Academy Television Awards ceremony in May (14) to celebrate her achievements.
She says, "I am honored to receive this prestigious award and extremely shocked. I've worked with some brilliant people over the years and have been very fortunate to have had the opportunities to work on such a variety of projects."
BAFTA Chief Executive Amanda Berry adds, "Julie Walters is one of the most talented individuals to grace our screens. She has the innate ability to draw the viewer in across any genre, captivating and entertaining with every performance."
Previous recipients of the BAFTA Fellowship from the TV branch of the Academy include actor Sir David Jason and comedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.
