Ezra Miller bullied in school for stutter

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN star EZRA MILLER faced extra cruelty growing up as a gay teen - because he also had a speech impediment.

The actor recently 'came out' as a homosexual and admitted he was "queer" in an interview with Out magazine, explaining that it was time to come clean about his sexuality in order to prove that being gay was nothing to be ashamed of.

However, the 19 year old, who was routinely bullied for "trying to kiss boys in school", suffered further at the hands of bullies at the New York Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus as he struggled to control his stutter.

He tells Out, "I went from having a stutter to being a totally gay little opera singer to being, like, a really confused queer adolescent. Getting socially outcast can be the best and most informative thing that can ever happen to you because you have to learn who you are separate from the pack."

Miller admits the harsh treatment he received from his fellow schoolmates often left him contemplating suicide, but he has urged young fans who may be battling similar issues to keep their heads up and stay strong.

He adds, "I just want kids in all situations to hold on. A lot of (adolescence) left me wanting to end my own life, just give up... But, man - life is a really, really cool ride. It's really amazing the type of s**t you can get up to if you endure. Like, you can do anything you want if you can survive."
