Blake Shelton apprehensive about continuing The Voice

Country star BLAKE SHELTON is uncertain about his future as a mentor on U.S. talent contest THE VOICE because his commitment to the TV show impacts on his career as a musician.

The singer spent years trying to break into the country music scene, and hit the big time in 2010, scoring best-selling singles and nabbing various top awards.

In 2011, Shelton joined Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green to find new talent on The Voice and became a household name.

He's now gearing up for a third season of the hit show, but admits he has reservations about staying on any longer.

In an interview with Country Weekly magazine, the 36 year old confesses, "I've sacrificed the peak of my career. I don't know how long I can stand it."

The Honey Bee singer isn't the only one who has rearranged their career plans for the show - Green announced in July (12) that he would be pushing back his upcoming residency in Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood resort as a result of his work on The Voice.
