An Australian man has nabbed the world's attention after he captured what he calls a 'fire tornado' on video.
According to Seven News in Australia, Chris Tangey of Alice Springs Film and Television was scouting locations near Curtin Springs in Australia when he saw the fiery phenomenon.
A small fire was burning in nearby bushland, so Tangey decided to start filming, according to the report. But as he was filming, a small twister touched down on the fire, causing it to build into a spinning flame.
Tangey told Northern Territory News, "It sounded like a jet fighter going by, yet there wasn't a breath of wind where we were."
Video of the 'fire tornado,' or as we're dubbing it, the fornado, was shown on the Today Show Tuesday morning.
