RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- The Great American Conference says football teams scheduled to play games in Arkansas on Thursday have received permission to move the contests up one day because of Tropical Storm Isaac.
GAC officials said Monday games between Northwestern Oklahoma and Ouachita Baptist and between Henderson State and Southern Nazarene originally were scheduled for Thursday night, but will be played on Wednesday instead.
Officials say the Rangers and Tigers will play at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and the Reddies will take on the Crimson Storm at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Both games are set to be played in Arkadelphia.
GAC Commissioner Will Prewitt says the conference and the schools appreciate that the NCAA granted them the flexibility to start their seasons one day early.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University is located in Alva and Southern Nazarene University is located in Bethany.
