NEW YORK - The NCAA leader in career receptions caught on with the Detroit Lions in the second round of the NFL Draft.

The Detroit Lions selected former Oklahoma Sooner wideout Ryan Broyles with the 22nd pick in the second round of the NFL Draft.

He's the third product from Oklahoma schools to be taken in this year's draft. Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon was selected by the Jaguars in the first round while Brandon Weeden went to the Browns.

Broyles finished with 349 receptions during his time in Norman, but his career was cut short when he tore his ACL against Texas A&M.

That injury played a key role in Broyles' stock in the draft.

He was clocked at 4.57 and 4.59 seconds and caught six passes from former OU quarterback Joey Halzle at his pro day for NFL scouts earlier this month.

He said after his workout that he hoped he showed the scouts that he has been working hard and -- most importantly -- that he's healthy.
