ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- Detroit Lions rookie receiver Ryan Broyles says he went to sleep after his first practice in nearly nine months hoping his body would feel OK in the morning.
It did.
Broyles broke in front of cornerback Justin Miller during a one-on-one drill and caught a short touchdown pass from quarterback Shaun Hill on Monday, one day after being removed from the non-football injury list.
Detroit drafted the former Oklahoma star in the second round with the 54th overall pick. Many teams passed on Broyles because he tore a ligament in his left knee in his ninth game as a senior with the Sooners.
