STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Top receiver Hubert Anyiam expects to be healed in time to play in Oklahoma State's season opener against Washington State.
Anyiam said he plans to practice Wednesday morning without the green jersey he's been wearing to indicate that he's an injured player and discourage defensive players from hitting him.
Anyiam emerged as Oklahoma State's top receiver after Dez Bryant was suspended three games into last season. He caught a team-best 42 passes for 515 yards and three touchdowns, all in the final nine games of the season.
Anyiam said Tuesday his surgically repaired ankle "is getting better by the day" and he's now trying to make his route-running smoother and get back to top speed.
The Cowboys' season opener is Sept. 4 in Stillwater.
