TULSA - The University of Tulsa has set up a benefit of their own for Tulane football player Devon Walker, who broke his neck while playing against the Hurricane Saturday.
Checks made payable to The University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane Club with "Devon Walker Fund" noted in the memo line may be dropped off at the TU Athletic Director’s Office in Mabee Gym at the corner of East 8th Street and South Florence Avenue or mailed to The University of Tulsa, Attn: Golden Hurricane Club, 800 S. Tucker Drive, Tulsa, OK 74104.
Walker suffered a cervical fracture when he collided head-to-head with a teammate during a tackle just before halftime in Saturday's game at H. A. Chapman Stadium.
He was transported to Saint Francis by ambulance, where he later underwent surgery to stabilize the fracture. He is currently in stable condition in the intensive-care unit and is expected to remain there for the next several days.
A donations website for Walker has been set up by Tulane University.
Donations also can be made to The College Football Assistance Fund.
The TU donations are not allowable tax-deductible contributions.
