TULSA - Conference USA announced Wednesday that TU's Bill Blankenship has been named football coach of the year.
Blankenship was selected by a vote from the league's head coaches.
He led the Golden Hurricane to a 10-3 record this season, including winning the conference championship title game over Central Florida. It marks Tulsa's ninth 10-win season in school history.
Under Blankenship, TU posted 18 wins in two seasons including a 14-2 record in conference regular season games.
TU heads to the Liberty Bowl for a New Year's Eve rematch with Iowa State. The Cyclones beat the Golden Hurricane in the season opener 33-28.
