TULSA - The University of Tulsa is moving to the Big East, according to ESPN.
The worldwide leader is reporting Tulsa will leave Conference USA in July, 2014 to join the soon-to-be-renamed Big East Conference.
East Carolina, originally expected to play football in the conference, will also reportedly be added as a full member.
Tulsa will join 10 other schools in 2014 before Navy is set to become a member in 2014. The new schools will replace Rutgers and Louisville, leaving for the Big Ten and ACC.
Nine of the schools expected to comprise the new conference are former Conference USA members.
The move comes only a week after the university announced the hiring of Derrick Gragg as vice president and athletic director.
