NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Suspended wide receiver Trey Franks is switching positions for No. 4 Oklahoma.

Coach Bob Stoops said after practice Tuesday night that Franks has moved to safety and "looks good back there" so far.

Franks started the season opener and the Insight Bowl last season for the Sooners, finishing the season with 196 yards on 22 receptions. He has been suspended indefinitely for breaking team rules during the offseason, although Stoops has reinstated him to practice.

Stoops has said Franks will miss multiple games this season.

Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops says one week isn't enough to tell what impact Franks could have at the position. He says Franks has the athletic ability needed but it remains to be seen whether he has the natural instincts for it.
