NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The University of Oklahoma has announced the transfer of a cornerback from Arizona to OU.
OU coach Bob Stoops said in a Monday news release that freshman Cortez Johnson will join the Sooner program.
Cortez played in eight games and started two for Arizona as a freshman last season. He will have to sit out a season under NCAA transfer rules before becoming eligible at Oklahoma.
Cortez played for OU defensive coordinator and Sooner assistant coach Tim Kish at Arizona.
