So just how have the Sooners fared against the Heisman winner in a bowl game during Bob Stoops' tenure?

When OU faces Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel, this season's winner, on Jan. 4 in the Cotton Bowl, it will mark the third such meeting.

The first time the Sooners faced the reigning Heisman winner was in the 2001 Orange Bowl.

They shut down Chris Weinke and Florida State 13-2 to win the national title.

The second matchup was also in the Orange Bowl, but it didn't turn out as well as the first encounter.

Matt Leinart and USC carved up the OU defense in the 55-19 national title game loss in 2005.

Oklahoma beat Texas A&M last season in Norman, 41-25.
