TULSA - A Tulsa County judge sentenced former Tulsa Public Schools assistant principal Robert Yerton, Jr. to 20 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of sex abuse and molestation.
Yerton, 43, a former Skelly Elementary School assistant principal, was accused of sexually abusing several young boys over an eight-year period.
In August, a jury on convicted Yerton of three felonies and acquitted him of two other felony counts.
The jury recommended a total of 27 years behind bars, including two 12-year sentences for each for the sexual abuse counts and a three-year sentence for the molestation count.
