PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) -- A car bombing in northwestern Pakistan has killed 40 people and wounded 90.
Sunday's attack occurred on a crowded street in Peshawar's oldest bazaar. The bomb exploded near a mosque and a police station, damaging the house of worship and nearby shops and engulfing vehicles in flames.
It was the third blast to hit the city in a week.
Last Sunday, two suicide bombers blew themselves up in a crowd of worshippers at a church, killing 85 people. Yesterday, 19 people were killed when a bomb exploded on a bus carrying government employees.
