DURANT, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities have issued a warrant for a 19-year-old man who is accused of stealing a duck from a child at the Bryan County Fair last month.

Police said Wednesday that a tip resulted in the case being solved.

James Thomas Richard Nelson is charged with larceny of domestic fowl and knowingly concealing stolen property. The Durant Daily Democrat reports the fowl was a grey call duck valued at $500.

An affidavit says the child's mother told police the duck was put in a cage after being shown at the fair and was stolen by an unknown male about 15 minutes later. Investigators say they confronted Nelson, who acknowledged he took the duck.

Police recovered the animal and returned to its owner.
