LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- Lawton police Capt. Craig Akard says authorities discovered the body Thursday while investigating a missing persons report. Akard tells the Lawton Constitution that officers went to the woman's home and interviewed her husband, who refused to let police into the house.
Akard says police obtained a search warrant, which was executed Thursday. The above-ground pool had collapsed and tires were piled on top of it. Akard says detectives lifted the pool and unearthed the woman's body, which was wrapped in a plastic bag. Akard says the husband was booked in the Comanche County jail on a murder complaint.
No names have been released yet in the case.
