SALLISAW, Okla. (AP) -- A Sallisaw woman has been arrested on complaints of trying to sell her two children.

Police say 22-year-old Misty VanHorn allegedly contacted a woman in Fort Smith, Ark., with an offer to sell her 2-year-old and 10-month-old children. Police say the Fort Smith woman notified the Oklahoma Department of Human Services -- which then notified Sallisaw police who arrested VanHorn Wednesday.

Police say VanHorn asked for $1,000 for the 2-year-old or $4,000 for both to raise money to bail her boyfriend out of jail.

VanHorn is being held in the Sequoyah County Jail on $40,000 bond.

Jail records do not list an attorney for her.
