OKLAHOMA CITY - Rapper 2 Chainz was arrested along with nearly a dozen other people Thursday in Oklahoma City, one day after opening for Lil Wayne at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
2 Chainz's tour bus was stopped around midnight near I-40 and Meridian Avenue by Oklahoma City police for a broken tail light. When the officer became suspicious there may be illegal drugs onboard, the Drug Interdiction Task Force became involved.
Police say the driver locked the doors, refusing to let officers aboard, and everyone on board the bus refused to leave. Police then towed the tour bus with everyone still inside.
A warrant was obtained and the bus was searched. All 11 people inside the bus, including the rapper, were taken into custody.
"As of right now they're facing charges of interfering with official process, although as you can see we are still searching the bus, so depending of what that search turns up, the charges could change," said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.
