TULSA - A Pittsburg County woman and her boyfriend are facing child abuse allegations.
Cassie Ragan, 26, and Nathan Edwards, 22, were arrested Monday and charged with abuse.
Pittsburg County Undersheriff Richard Bedford tells 2NEWS Ragan's 2-month-old daughter was taken to a McAlester hospital Sunday night with traumatic brain injuries.
The baby was also diagnosed with several broken ribs and a number of bruises. She was transported to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition.
Bedford says the sheriff's department was called by McAlester police from the city hospital around midnight Sunday after an ambulance transported the child from a home south of town. The baby was unresponsive with bruising on her head.
The case remains under investigation by Pittsburg County investigators and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Ragan and Edwards are being held in the Pittsburg County Jail on charges of child abuse and enabling child abuse by injury. They each have a bond of $250,000.
