PUSHMATAHA COUNTY, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma Department of Public Safety officials say a Texas man was killed after his plane crashed in Pushmataha County.
A highway patrol aircraft and rescuers reached the crash site around 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
Officials say the pilot, 54-year-old Stephen Mark Hardin of Terrell, Texas, was killed in the crash.
The plane was reported missing during a flight from Tahlequah to Terrell on Friday. Officials say a search for the plane was delayed because of inclement weather.
The crash was found in a heavily wooded area.
Hardin was the only occupant of the plane.
