Pawnee County residents voted "yes" to a one-cent sales tax extension while Randy McMath won the open councilor's seat in Kiowa.
In Pawnee County, the extension passed with a 320-49 margin.
It will last for five years with the money allocated for fire departments and senior centers, among other things.
In Pittsburg County, McMath beat Steve LeFlore 52-5 for the open seat on the Kiowa Board of Trustees.
According to the McAlester News-Capital, the seat became available after the former trustee member moved out of town.
