PAWNEE COUNTY, Okla. - UPDATED -- A wildfire burning in Pawnee County is now under control.
The grass fire started around 4 p.m. Thursday about one mile north of Cleveland along the Arkansas River.
Fire crews from several cities, including Pawnee, Pershing, Hominy and Cleveland all responded.
At one point officials were concerned about a wind shift blowing flames toward nearby homes.
Crews say the fire was finally out around 11:15 p.m.
Highway 99 was shut down briefly while the fire was still burning but it was reopened by Friday morning.

Pershing Rural fire chief Chuck Hall is concerned a wind shift could threaten homes in the area.
The fire is one mile north of Cleveland along the Arkansas River.
Pershing Rural Fire, Hominy Ranchers and the city of Hominy are all working together to extinguish the flames.
Highway 99 is temporarily shut down preventing travelers going north.
