TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - An investigation is under way into the severe beating of two Cherokee County men late last week.

The sheriff's office requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Friday after 51-year-old Owen White showed up at a local hospital with severe wounds to his head.  He was later transported to a Tulsa hospital for further treatment.

Police went to White's home in Tahlequah to investigate and they found Charles Shade, 49, who had also been physically assaulted.

Shade was taken to a local Tahlequah hospital where he was treated and released.

White remains hospitalized.

Anyone with information about the assault or either man, call OSBI at (800)522-8017 or the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department at (918) 456-2583.
