CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait - An Oklahoma soldier has died in Kuwait, United States Department of Defense officials said Friday.
Pfc. Charles McClure died May 2 in Camp Buehring, Kuwait, of "injuries sustained in a vehicle accident." McClure, 21, was from the town Stratford.
According to a release from the DoD, McClure joined the army in Nov. 2011 and arrived at Fort Carson, Colo. in May of last year.
He was awarded a National Defense Service Ribbon, the Global War on Terror Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
Twenty-five-year-old Spc. Trinidad Santiago Jr., of San Diego, also died in the accident. Both men were assigned to the 4th Batallion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division out of Fort Carson.
