OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City Public Schools officials say a middle school student is accused of stabbing another student in the mouth.

The school says the incident happened during lunch Monday at Roosevelt Middle School. The district said in a statement that a seventh-grade student stabbed an eighth-grade student in the upper lip with a knife.

The school's resource officer responded to the incident and the injured student was released to his parents.

Oklahoma City police arrested the student with the knife at the school. The district says the student will be disciplined for violating the school's policy that prohibits weapons on school property.
