MCALESTER, Okla. - Highway patrol officials say a Norman man was killed after running a stop sign in a golf car in Pittsburg County.
Troopers say 33-year-old Lawerence Dillard was driving an electric golf cart around 8 p.m. Saturday when he failed to yield at a stop sign at Fisher Road and State Highway 9 and was hit by a pickup truck. Dillard was thrown around 18 feet from the cart.
Dillard died at an area hospital. The driver of the pickup was uninjured.
