MUSKOGEE, Okla. -- A Muskogee man will stand trial for the shooting death of a toddler.
The Muskogee County court clerk's office confirmed with 2NEWS that 21-year-old Elbert Lee Meeks was bound over for trial Wednesday after a preliminary hearing in district court.
Meeks is charged with the death of 2-year-old Ja'Cion Logan.
Prosecutors say Meeks shot Logan in December when Meeks tried for force his way into Logan's grandmother's home.
Logan's grandmother, Sandra Cooper, testified that Meeks grabbed her by the hair, trying to shoot her when Logan was shot.
Meeks will enter a plea at his formal arraignment April 12.
