LAWTON, Okla. - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is assisting Lawton police in an investigation of an officer-involved fatality around 3 a.m. Saturday.
OSBI officials say Lawton police responded to a domestic assault at a Super 9 Motel. When officers arrived, the man involved in the dispute fled the scene. An officer pursued the man's vehicle until he lost sight of the suspect.
Investigators say a second officer saw the vehicle and began a second pursuit before calling for medical assistance. Medical personnel pronounced the suspect dead at the scene, according to an OSBI release.
Lawton police, OSBI investigators and highway patrol troopers are participating in the investigation.
The man's identity has not been released.
