The Oklahoma mother serving a prison sentence for contributing to the death of her daughter wants a new trial.

Raye Dawn Smith was convicted of enabling the child abuse that caused the death of her daughter, Kelsey-Briggs Smith.

She's due in court a week from today to ask a judge for a new trial, claiming a juror in her trial researched the case on the internet.

The death and trial happened in Lincoln County, but there has been a change of venue.

Smith's lawyers will appear before a judge in Kay County to make their request.
