OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Integris Health has announced plans for a joint venture with a Florida-based health management system to run five rural Oklahoma hospitals.
Integris announced the partnership with Health Management Associates, Inc. on Monday. The joint venture involves regional hospitals in Blackwell, Clinton, Madill, Pryor and Seminole and is expected to be completed on March 1.
Integris President and CEO Bruce Lawrence says the partnership brings together Oklahoma's largest health care system and one of the country's largest community hospital managers.
The five Oklahoma hospitals will continue to have the Integris name but will be managed by Health Management Associates.
Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates currently operates 66 hospitals nationwide, including facilities in Midwest City and Durant, as well as hospitals in Fort Smith and Van Buren, Arkansas.
