MIAMI, Okla. (AP) -- An Ottawa County judge is expected to set a date for a mental health examination for an Illinois man charged with planning to bomb churches in northeastern Oklahoma.
The hearing for Gregory Weiler is to begin at 9:30 a.m. in Miami (my-AM'-uh). Weiler was arrested in October after police say they discovered his plan to bomb dozens of churches in northeastern Oklahoma.
An affidavit claims that investigators found instructions for making Molotov cocktails, a list of 48 churches and a written outline of Weiler's plan to plant bombs.
Weiler's relatives have said that he has struggled with mental illness and substance abuse.
