OKLAHOMA CITY - Before a packed house, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin laid out her plans for 2012, starting with job creation.

The governor has teamed up with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce to create www.okjobmatch.com . It's a website that focuses on matching potential employees with employers.

In addition to keeping unemployment low, she's also looking at how residents are taxed. She's proposing what she calls the greatest tax cut in state history. She says the plan lowers taxes for everyone and reduces the number of tax brackets from seven to three. Fallin says it would cut taxes "without starving state government and hurting the poor."

Still, Sen. Tom Adelson, D-Tulsa, says the state is still recovering from the recession and lawmakers should focus their attention on taking care of the people that work for the state.

"Investing in those things that really, over the long term, make a difference in the health of the economy, which is our skilled labor force, quality of education, decent health care for everyone, good roads and bridges," said Adelson.

Fallin and Adelson both agree on a need to improve the state's bridges. Fallin's plan includes fixing all of the state's structurally deficient bridges by 2019, a total of 706 bridges.

Health care is something both Fallin and Adelson would like to work on but in different ways.

Adelson would like to see more of a free market place, where people can choose which hospital and/or doctor they go to without high prices.

Fallin's State of the State speech didn't address that though. She wants to encourage healthier school lunches and she's banning smoking on state building properties. Plus, she's also planning on using a federal grant to turn the Capitol's smoke room into a fitness center.

Another topic Fallin discussed was energy. She says 10 states are looking at purchasing CNG vehicles for their state vehicles in hopes that it help the natural gas industry grow.

2011 was a tough year for Grand Lake. The area was devastated by a blizzard, a tornado and an outbreak of Blue Green Algae. But with the opening holiday weekend of the holiday season looking promising, area businesses hope to be able to make up for some of the revenue they lost last season.
