THACKERVILLE, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says construction work could cause major delays on Interstate 35 at the Oklahoma-Texas border.
Highway officials say all lanes of southbound Interstate 35 will be detoured to a service road about six miles south of the Oklahoma-Texas border at the junction of I-35 and U.S. 82.
The detour begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday and is scheduled to end 7 a.m. Wednesday. Texas crews will be working on a bridge project.
Highway officials say significant delays are possible and traffic could extend back to the Oklahoma border.
Drivers are urged to plan for extra time while making travel plans.
