DEL CITY, Okla. (AP) -- Del City police say a man accused of holding his 6-year-old daughter hostage has been found dead.
The child escaped Wednesday morning, and TV news crews showed her running tentatively from the home into the arms of a police officer who carried her across the street.
Police then entered the home and later told reporters that they found the 29-year-old man dead.
Capt. Jody Suit did not immediately return a phone call to The Associated Press seeking comment. Suit said earlier that the woman who lived at the home called 911 about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to say she and her two children were being held hostage.
Suit says the woman escaped with one child while the second child remained with the man.
