CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) -- The two Republicans vying for their party's nomination to represent the 2nd Congressional District will meet in a debate before next month's runoff election.

Markwayne Mullin and George Faught are scheduled to debate Monday night at Rogers State University in Claremore.

Faught is a three-term state representative from Muskogee while Mullin is a business owner from Westville. Mullin captured 42 percent of the vote in the six-man GOP primary in June, while Faught finished with 23 percent.

Wayne Herriman and Rob Wallace face off in the Democratic runoff Aug. 28.

The debate is sponsored by RSU-TV, the Claremore Daily Progress, the Claremore Chamber of Commerce and the RSU Department of Communications. It will be broadcast on RSU-TV and will be streamed live at www.rsupublictv.org .
