ADAIR COUNTY, Okla. - An Adair County inmate facing drug charges is back in custody after escaping from jail Thursday night.

Twenty-four-year-old Nicholas Ames, arrested last month on drug charges, was a trustee doing work around the jail when he escaped as soon as he had access to an open door.

Officials at the Adair County Sheriff's Office say Ames was captured around 1:30 Friday afternoon in Westville.

Last week, DNA evidence Ames to an attempted armed robbery in August.
