DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. - A 3-year-old boy was killed in a house fire early Wednesday morning in Delaware County.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Joanne Sellers says the home burned around 12:45 a.m. in the Lakemont Shores area.

Sellers says a mother and her two sons, ages 3 and 4, were inside the mobile home at the time of the blaze.

The 3-year-old was asleep in the living room on a couch and the other two were asleep in a bedroom when smoke started to fill the home.

Sellers says the mother tried getting to the living room to get her son but smoke blocked her way. She and the 4-year-old escaped through a window.

The 3-year-old's body was later found in the living room where he was last seen by his mother.

The home was destroyed.

A state fire investigator determined the fire started in the kitchen/dining room area but the cause has not been determined.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office is also investigating.

Sellers says there were no smoke detectors installed inside the home.
