TULSA - Two pedestrians were injured in separate incidents along Oklahoma roads this weekend, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers.

The first accident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Saturday near 31st Street and County Road 273 in Wagoner County.

Troopers say Blake A. Carter, 21, was walking on road when he attempted to run in front of a car driven by 21-year-old Charles Van Risseghem.

Carter was struck by the car.  He was transferred to a Tulsa hospital with leg injuries.

Neither Risseghem nor his passenger were injured.

A second accident, in Love County, left a pedestrian injured after being struck by a car near Thackerville.

Troopers say an unnamed woman was walking in the northbound lanes of Merle Wolfe Road around 2 a.m. Sunday when she was hit by 47-year-old Camille Silmon of Grand Praire, Texas.

The woman was knocked approximately 22 feet by the impact.

She was admitted to a Texas hospital with head, internal and external trunk injuries.  She is in stable condition.

Silmon and a passenger were uninjured.

Troopers attribute both accidents to the actions of the pedestrians.
